30 Year Old Murder Possibly Solved

When people in the Los Angeles area are charged with crimes the first decision they need to make is which lawyer to hire.Court Robert Helfend is the best lawyer to contact for an aggressive defense which can lead to reduced or dropped charges.

On April 9, 1979 Sandra Faith Phillips, 33, was found in her own home dead by way of strangulation. The crime appeared to be of a sexual nature and after an investigation the police hit a wall as no suspects were found. Now, 30 years later, DNA from another case gave authorities a reason to reopen the case.

Once DNA testing became available and popular the samples taken from that crime scene were entered into the CODIS database which gave no leads at the time. Then in 2007, Leonard Alex Dominquez was involved in another crime and his DNA was collected and entered into CODIS which notified the original investigators that his DNA was a hit in a cold case.

Dominquez has been arrested for the 1979 charges on a probable cause warrant and police feel they have a very strong case due to other evidence that now points to Leonard.

Although the case is 30 years old there is no statute of limitations for murder, and because it happened in California the death penalty may be one of the penalties sought for Mr. Dominquez. Los Angeles Defense attorney Robert Michael Helfend can help. He has proved many times that he is able to fight and win for those charged with murder.
