Broadcom Charges Thrown Out Completely

A great trial attorney knows that getting a case thrown out and charges dropped is the best possible scenario. Ventura defense attorney Robert Helfend understands this and in his 20 plus years working for the people in the Los Angeles area he has seen this outcome many times.gavel

As in the recent case of former CEO Henry Nicholas, where the lawyer was able to help facilitate seeing each charge against him thrown out, Robert Helfend can work to see your walk away from accusations unscathed.

The case against Nicholas had a large number of charges including

  • Stock option backdating
  • Creative bookkeeping
  • Narcotics

On Thursday the judge in the case threw out the last of the charges and even set aside guilty pleas from two of the co-defendants. He was unhappy with the prosecution and how they obtained facts in the case. He accused them of tainting witnesses, failure to produce evidence and said they had “distorted the truth-finding process,”. His words in effect wiped the slate clean for Henry who had been facing possible years in prison.

Nicholas now goes free, however he has lost his job, his marriage has ended, and his reputation has been tarnished. This is a sad but too common occurrence in so many cases. Robert Helfend understands the toll a trial can have on a persons life and well being and therefore he will always strive to keep accusations from becoming charges and charges from becoming public whenever possible.
