California Man Convicted In Hong Kong Flight Incident

An Anaheim businessman was convicted in US Federal District Court in Los Angeles of interfering with a flight crew. James Cameron, 50, had been drinking aboard the Hong Kong-to-Los Angeles flight and became unruly on the aircraft. An off-duty pilot attempted to restrain Cameron. Cameron assaulted the pilot and a flight attendant who had tried to restrain the man during the altercation.

Cameron’s attorney says that he became agitated after taking what he thought were sleeping pills. The pills turned out to be the prescription drug Ambien. Cameron faces up to 20 years in federal prison when he is sentenced.
