An arrest has been made less than a week after three men were murdered in a West Hollywood apartment.

Charles Juan Proctor, a 45 year old homeless man in the Los Angeles area, has been tried and convicted for the attempted murder of six women in Long Beach in 2008.

Proctor was on a crime spree robbing several stores and demanding cash. In most stores the women workers were terorized, held at knife point, and even stabbed and slashed.

Recently Paris Hilton has been in the news because of an alleged failed armed  robbery that occurred at her home. Thirty one year old Nathan Lee Parada was arrested after trying to break into Hilton’s house with two knives.

Last Wednesday night Police saw someone hammering on a monument outside of the St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church in Glendale. Because of the nature of the crime prosecutors filed the charges as a hate crime, but after further investigation have down graded the charges to felony vandalism among other things.

“After reviewing the evidence, we felt that these were the appropriate charges,” said spokeswoman Shiara Davila-Morales.

The man arrested for the crime, twenty three year old Victor Petrescu also of Glendale, has pleaded not guilty to the crime but remains in custody until he can pay a sizable bail.

“We commend the work of the Glendale police and, fortunately enough, they were there and were able to stop this assault in a very quick way, but we don’t want to be in the position of condemning anyone,” said Levon Kirakosian, a spokesman for the La Crescenta-based Western Prelacy of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America. “We understand that there is a lot of facts that need to be discovered.”

On June 26th at least two men entered a Los Angeles marijuana dispensary and ransacked the shop. The men were allegedly gang members seeking to send a message to the legal marijuana trade that cutting into street profits is not a good idea.

The men held the security worker and another man at gunpoint and then, although they didn’t resist, shot them both. The security guard survived, however 27 year old Matthew Butcher wasn’t so lucky.

This month the two shooters were identified as Raymond Lemone Easter, 27, and Daniel Deshawn Hinton, 31. The latter has been arrested and charged with the murder. He is being held without bail awaiting trial.

Hinton is pleading not guilty but is facing serious charges. Investigators are still searching for Easter and are offering a reward for information leading to his arrest. They also now believe that there may have been a third man involved and are searching for ways to identify him
