Defense Attorney Robert Helfend Will Help You Out Of Trouble

Fifty year old James Edward Lowther filed a police report stating that he had been struck by a motorist in Thousand Oaks but then changed his story. He now faces fraud charges.

Lowther has pleaded guilty to charges of felony auto insurance fraud and now faces up to five years in prison as well as a hefty fine.

The report, filed in February, originally stated that he was walking along the sidewalk of a strip mall when he was hit by a passing car. However, he had no visible injuries and the driver denied the incident.

He later tried to change it to a vehicle collision but the police had figured him out by then. He was arrested in October and apparently skipped bail. He was later arrested a second timeĀ  and is scheduled to be sentenced on June 21.
