Diamond Bar Business Man Arrested For Insurance Fraud

A Diamond Bar man has been arrested on charges of insurance fraud related to the under-reporting of his business income to avoid paying higher worker’s compensation insurance premiums to the State of California. Joseph Baiden operated a home health firm called Nurse Connection. Authorities allege that Baiden underreported his income between 2001 and 2007 by $20 million, which enabled him to reduce his worker’s compensation insurance premium by more than $1.4 million in that period. In addition, Baiden is accused of under-reporting income on state and federal tax filings for the same time period. He faces up to 40 years in prison and a $3.2 million fine if convicted.
