Four men were arrested in connection with an assault of a security guard and the armed robbery of an electronics business in Hawthorne early Saturday morning. The four suspects allegedly broke into the business and beat the 64-year-old security guard, bound his hands and feet, and put tape over his mouth. After disabling the guard, the men used the company’s forklift to load several pallets of electronics onto a waiting truck. Police responded to a burglary alarm at the business and arrived just as the truck was leaving.

Police chased the suspects into Lawndale, where two of the men were arrested. Additional warrants were obtained and two other men were arrested in connection with the incident later on Saturday and on Sunday. The names of the suspects and their victim have not been released. Officers are continuing to investigate and expect to make additional arrests in connection with the matter. The guard was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.
